About the event

Introduction to Shuttle Tatting is for beginners who want to learn how to tat but don’t know where to start. 

You will learn about different shuttle types and threads and learn how to make the make a double stitch (the basis of all tatting) and a ring. 

Learning how to successfully flip the knot can be challenging so be prepared to practice patience while you learn and laugh while you master all the little movements. The focus of this class is learning how to make the tatting knot. You will not be making a particular project. Sample threads will be provided in class.

Participants Need to Bring:

  Tatting Shuttle

  Small Scissors (optional)

Participants need to be able to:

  Use fine motor skills in hands to manipulate small pieces

  Practice patience while learning

For youth (age 16 and up) and adults. Tatting is a form of lace making using small half knots. It is small, portable, fun to do, and produces beautiful items.
